Fluid Engineering, is proud to be the sole distributor in Alabama for the Warren Rupp Warren Rupp® SANDPIPER line of Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps.

Founded in 1965, Warren Rupp, Inc. shipped the first SANDPIPER® AODD pump in July 1968. It was the first AODD pump designed to handle solids of any appreciable size. Using a flap-type check valve made this possible, and the in-the-top and out-the-bottom configuration made the pump a success.

Why the name SANDPIPER To accelerate wear during the development of the pump, a slurry of very abrasive silica sand was continuously cycled through the pump. The sand slurry often wore through the piping before the pump failed. Since the sand was pumped through a pipe, Warren E. Rupp, the company founder, named the pump the "SANDPIPER."

SANDPIPER pumps can be divided into two broad categories ball- and flap-type check valves. Warren Rupp also supplies air preparation accessories, leak detection systems, flow and pump speed controls, and surge suppressors for use in conjunction with AODD pumps. Finally Warren Rupp offers two portable centrifugal submersible pumps, the PortaPump® and the SludgeMaster™.

Warren Rupp Ball Valve Pumps

SB Series Metallic Pumps are ideal for all liquids, thin to viscous, even small solids. SANDPIPER® Ball Valve Pumps are the only air-operated double diaphragm pumps available with variable porting options (side, top, bottom, and dual). Constructed from Aluminum, Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, or Hastelloy-C with various elastomer options.

  • Monitored RuppGUARDTM Series pumps provide safer handling of aggressive or hazardous liquids. RuppGUARD chambers filled with neutral or compatible fluid prevent leakage into the environment in case of diaphragm breach. No pumped fluid enters the air valve or exhaust and compressed air cannot enter the fluid being pumped.

Available in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Hastelloy-C, Polypropylene, and PVDF with mechanical, visual and electronic leak detection available for local or remote alert.

  • G Metallic Series pumps are CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certified for "sweet" natural gas operated diaphragm pumps. The sweet gas pump utilizes Aluminum or 316 SS wetted construction with Buna or Virgin PTFE diaphragms and check balls. The gas valve is constructed of Aluminum with Buna elastomers. Pumps are fully groundable, preventing static discharge.

  • Warren Rupp Flap Valve Pumps

SA Flap Valve Series Pumps are recommended for slurries and liquids with suspended solids. Flap valves allow passage of suspended line-size solids without damage. Bottom discharge porting is standard on 1" through 4" pump sizes. The 1" model is also available with top discharge porting and 1" and 2" models have a dual porting option. These pumps are available in Aluminum, Cast Iron, or Stainless Steel with various elastomer options.

  • SANDPIPER® W Series Metallic Pumps are fitted with swing check valves and easy access clean-outs. The pumps are designed specifically for slurry and solids-laden materials. Flap valves allow passage of suspended, pipe-size solids and stringy material. Constructed of cast iron with a durable epoxy coating.

  • PHOENIX High Pressure SeriesWarren Rupp's PHOENIX Series air-powered, single diaphragm metallic ball or flap valve pumps deliver discharge pressure twice the inlet pressure, up to 250 PSI. Designed for filter press feed and applications requiring higher discharge pressures. These pumps are available in Cast Iron and Stainless Steel with various elastomer options.

Warren Rupp also manufactures built-to-order, multi-pump systems that combine a high volume fill pump with a high pressure feed pump. Frequently used for filter press feed applications, these systems produce operating pressures to 250 PSI. This results in shortened press cycles, drier cake and less costly disposal.

  • Metallic Submersible Centrifugal

    PortaPump®
The PortaPump® Submersible, Battery-Powered Pump (Model SPA1-1/2"-E) operates using any 12-volt car or truck battery. It comes equipped with cables and battery clips. Expremely portable, the pump weighs only 33 pounds and can fit through openings as small as 10". Electrically safe and whisper quiet.

    SludgeMasterTM
The SludgeMasterTMSubmersible, Air-Powered Trash Pump(Model SMA3–A) handles mud, leaves, twigs, sand, trash-laden water and soft solids to 1-1/2". The pump provide high capacity at low head. The pump weighs only 59 pounds, and can fits through an opening as small as 14". It features sturdy construction for rough handling and long life. An optional rock screen is available.

    Surge Suppressors/Dampeners

Tranquilizer® Surge Suppressors, for use with any diaphragm pump, maintain a constant cushion volume in a pumping application for the most effective surge suppression. Tranquilizer®models are automatically self-charging and self-venting.
Surge Dampener Designed for use with 1/2"" and 3/4" pumps, these non-metallic dampeners are manually charged with air. The dampener consumes no air after initial charge.
